Our latest milestone involves the delivery of an upgraded POS cart backend, designed to revolutionize your shopping experience.
Section in this article:
Key Improvements
1. Increased Capacity: Our enhanced cart infrastructure now boasts the capability to effortlessly handle up to 15,000 products, ensuring a seamless and robust user experience with minimal latency or errors. This marks a remarkable departure from our previous cart, which struggled with instability and performance issues when managing just 1,000 products.
2. Optimized Fulfillment Workflow: We've reimagined the purchase flow to enhance speed and efficiency. For transactions involving 250 products or more, fulfillment now occurs asynchronously in the background. This means that the confirmation/transaction email will only be sent once the fulfillment process is complete. While transactions with higher volumes (1500 or more) may take some time to process, our system ensures smooth handling and notifies POS operators accordingly.
3. Improved Refund/Exchange Process: Our UI/UX enhancements make refunding or exchanging products a breeze. Products are now conveniently grouped by name, allowing for efficient refunds of entire product groups. Modifiers are seamlessly linked to the products they were sold with, simplifying the refund process. Plus, our intuitive interface offers quick actions such as refunding individual modifiers or the entire cart with just a click.
We're confident that these enhancements will elevate your shopping experience to new heights, ensuring smooth transactions and effortless management of refunds and exchanges.
New features
The purchase flow
You will now see a new design of the cart, we changed the colors and the disposition of the options (each button still does the same action) :
The second change for the transaction process is that now, if you add more than 250 products or more to your cart and finalize the payment, the fulfillment will happen asynchronously in the background and the confirmation/transaction email will only be sent once this fulfillment method is done.
In the case that a transaction has a higher volume (1500 or more) this async process can a few minutes.
Some changes were made to the POS interface to notify the operator:
-
Once the payment is taken a screen will show the message “Transaction items are still processing in the background. Please come back later
-
When this process happens you can see in the quick view of the transactions that we don’t have the action button
-
If you open this transaction you will see the message below
The Refund / Exchange flow
Here is a breakdown of the new design of the POS when refunding or exchanging a product in the new cart V2.1:
-
Products are now grouped by product name and it's now possible to refund all products within a group.
-
You can also collapse the group product name to see more of the products in a transaction (hitbox is on the product name text).
-
Modifiers are now bound to the product it was sold with.
-
You can refund a modifier by tapping/clicking on it or clicking the parent product image to refund the product and its modifiers.
-
The "refund all" green button refunds the totality of the transaction.
-
It is also possible to refund only non-fulfilled items.
